A obra de Alexandre da Cunha tem como eixo central a noção de readymade. Suas composições tridimensionais formadas a partir de objetos encontrados apresentam associações inusitadas entre elementos cotidianos e referências da história da arte do século XX, transformando o kitsch e o ordinário - com grande dose de humor - em obras caracterizadas pela precisão e elegância. Sound I (2016) é uma tela revestida com um tecido translúcido, sob o qual emergem as formas de duas grandes conchas. Há aqui um erotismo latente nas curvas e orifícios que brotam da superfície do quadro, bem como a dramatização daquilo que está parcialmente oculto e não se revela imediatamente. Além das sensações visuais e táteis evocadas nesse trabalho, há também a referência ao som produzido pelo oco da concha ao aproximarmos nossos ouvidos. --- Alexandre da Cunha's work has the notion of readymade as its central axis. His three-dimensional compositions formed from found objects present unusual associations between everyday elements and references from the history of 20th century art, transforming kitsch and the ordinary - with a large dose of humor - into works characterized by precision and elegance. Sound I (2016) is a canvas covered with a translucent fabric, under which the shapes of two large shells emerge. There is a latent eroticism here in the curves and orifices that spring from the surface of the painting, as well as the dramatization of what is partially hidden and not immediately revealed. In addition to the visual and tactile sensations evoked in this work, there is also reference to the sound produced by the hollow of the shell as we approach our ears.
