ABOUT
Founded in 1974, Luisa Strina gallery is a pioneer in promoting a generation of Brazilian conceptual artists and is recognized for its pivotal role in shaping the country’s contemporary art market.
In 1992, it became the first Latin American gallery to participate in Art Basel. Since then, it has maintained a consistent presence at major international art fairs, including Art Basel (Basel, Paris, and Miami Beach), ARCO (Madrid), Frieze (London and New York), and SP-Arte (São Paulo).
Works by artists represented by the gallery are held in prestigious institutional collections worldwide, such as MoMA (New York), the Guggenheim Museum (New York), Tate Modern (London), Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid), MASP (São Paulo), Pinacoteca de São Paulo, Instituto Inhotim (Brumadinho), Centre Pompidou (Paris), and the Pinault Collection (Paris and Venice), among others. Many of its artists have also participated in major exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale, the São Paulo Biennial, and Documenta in Kassel, further solidifying their international recognition.
Currently, Luisa Strina represents more than forty Brazilian and international artists, bringing together key figures from the Latin American and global art scenes. While reaffirming long-standing partnerships, the gallery continues to invest in new generations, preserving its relevance and pioneering spirit within the global contemporary art landscape.
