--- The Caipora is the guardian of the forests. Cousin of Curupira, he reigns over the animals and protects them, destroying hunters who break their agreements. It is considered in some parts of Brazil a cannibal. Monsters Synopsis After the experience of Wrong Drawings (wrong drawings), in which pieces of charcoal encrusted in the weaves dyed their material over time, in 2020 Laura Lima chooses to extract the ink from her weaved drawings directly from food, dyeing the cotton of weaving with food, reducing the impact of circulation because of the pandemic and further emphasising the policy of materials. These gigantic texture drawings, which take time to be woven, were already extracted, even before 2020, from an imaginary of figures that present themselves as complex mythologies, added to smells and tones that can then offer hallucinogenic visual sensations. As they are delicate works – in which the pigments used in the dyeing process are of vegetable origin, and are therefore more fleeting and fleeting than synthetic ones – their colors are likely to fade slowly, as in a slow and imperceptible cinema.
