Anna Maria Maiolino. Je suis là. Estou aqui: Musée Picasso Paris
Anna Maria Maiolino. Je suis là. Estou aqui marks the first solo exhibition of the Italian-Brazilian artist at a French institution. On view at the Musée Picasso-Paris from June 14, the show is a highlight of the 2025 Brazil-France Season and celebrates her six-decade career, recently honored with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 2024 Venice Biennale.
Featuring more than 100 works—including paintings, sculptures, videos, and previously unseen drawings—the retrospective traces key thematic threads in her practice. Curated by Sébastien Delot and Fernanda Brenner and organized into six sections (Introduction, Between Meanings, Brainstorm, "In Principle", New Landscapes, and Ricochets), it highlights Maiolino’s multidisciplinary approach, from explorations of the body and quotidian life to investigations of identity, exile, and political resistance.
Anna Maria Maiolino. Je suis là. Estou aqui not only solidifies her international acclaim but also bridges her work with the French artistic context, underscoring her enduring relevance in global contemporary art.
Anna Maria Maiolino. Je suis là. Estou aqui is sponsored by BNDES.
